What is Domain Redemption?

When a domain name expires and passes through the standard grace period without being renewed, it enters the Redemption Period (typically lasting 30 days). During this stage, the domain is officially removed from the registry, any associated website or email services stop working, and standard dashboard renewals are disabled.

Retrieving a domain during this window requires paying a registry-mandated restoration fee in addition to the standard annual renewal cost. Only the original registrant has the right to redeem the domain before it enters a final "Pending Delete" state and is released to the open market.

How to Request Domain Redemption

Because domain redemption requires manual registry restoration and specialized billing processing, it cannot be completed through self-serve actions in the dashboard:

1.Navigate to Support:Step 1.From the main RealJossy dashboard, click Support on the left sidebar menu to expand the options, then click Ticket (or click the Open Ticket card under Quick Actions).

2.Pick Your Department:Step 2.On the Pick Your Department screen, click Billing (or Technical).

3.Complete Ticket Details:Step 3.In the Subject field, type your domain restoration request (e.g., "Domain Redemption Request - yourdomain.com"). Select a level from the Priority dropdown, and explain your request in the Description box.

4.Submit the Ticket:Step 4.Click the blue Submit button at the bottom of the page to submit your request to the support team for manual restoration.
